Welcome to Sheila’s Foods

My name is Sheila Keiro and I am the chef and owner of this small artisan business. 

Originally from Scotland, where my culinary adventure began. I moved to Jersey in the Channel Islands in the late 1980’s  to run the restaurant at Samares Manor. With then one of the largest herb garden in Britain on its grounds, the variety of culinary herbs in abundance greatly influenced my style of cooking, bringing freshness, flavour and originality to the forefront as I was able to experiment with the fresh ingredients so readily available.

Moving to Ireland in 1993 with my Irish partner, we came to Carlingford before the town established itself on the map, and set up the original Magees Bistro. Here I developed my own repertoire of dishes, and together we became renowned for something  “A little different.” said  by John McKenna in the Bridgestone Guide at the time to be “one of the best double acts in the business”.

Moving on from the restaurant I developed a range of award winning  pestos, tapenades, mojo sauces which are often used in the my dishes.  My foods are all 100% homemade, no component parts are readymade. Indeed I only buy ingredients. The end result gives a dish that is truly fresh and homemade by myself with care from the best quality ingredients.

I am able to drop off ready prepared dishes to your home, cater “in-house” for your party, or deliver a cookery demonstration at the end of which you and your guests can sit down to dinner.
